We want to express our gratitude for all the support we received during our fundraising this year which culminated in the 2017 Winter Solstice and Benefit Banquet! The purpose of this fundraising event was to expand our research program and create opportunities for individuals in crisis in the following categories including: Battered Women, Veterans, and Chronically Ill (Cancer, Heart Disease, and Lung Disease) to receive Reiki sessions in a clinical setting.
Thanks to our incredibly dedicated planning committee and amazing volunteers who worked very hard organizing, preparing for and soliciting donations for the event from start to finish. It was a great success.
A mini bazaar was setup at the event to welcome our guests that night. Thanks to those who donated various art, photographs, products for sale at this event to raise funds for our purpose. This was followed by a delicious dinner, a talk by Dr. Charles Meakin and the Winter Solstice ceremony and finally ended with wonderful desserts and lot of hugs.
We also are very grateful for the wonderful food provided by CharBar 7, Kabab Je Mediterranean restaurant, Tom and Andi Crowley, Jennifer Hoff and Henny Kablan. We thank the Catawba Mill HOA for allowing us to use their clubhouse for this event. We also wish to thank our special guest speaker Dr. Charles Meakin for sharing his experiences with Reiki. We especially wish to thank all those who purchased tickets, products, donated and/or joined our supporter circle.
We raised $8,280 for the program and are extremely grateful for such a loving community and the support we received.
